Minimum Requirements:
- Matric Grade 12: The foundation of a solid educational background.
- Pastel Knowledge: Essential for handling financial transactions.
- Previous Hotel Experience: An advantage, especially in a similar position.
- Opera and F&B Point of Sale Knowledge: Essential for navigating industry-specific systems.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Both verbal and written, ensuring effective interaction.
- Fully Literate and Numerate: Capable of performing calculations, interpreting basic accounts, and understanding financial statements, reports, and invoices.
Duties and Responsibilities: As our Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of our organization. Here are the key responsibilities you’ll be handling:
- Checking Back-up Documentation: Verify received documentation against the summary of purchases, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Inputting Invoices: Manage the input of invoices and Requests for Credit/Debit notes into the Accounts Payable system.
- Printing Payment Requests: Prepare payment requests, cheques, and EFT summaries, submitting them for approval to the Financial Manager and General Manager.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile suppliers’ statements against invoices and Requests for Debit/Credit Notes, maintaining accurate records.
- Timely Payments: Ensure timely payments to suppliers, taking advantage of settlement discounts whenever possible.
- Procurement Platform Integrity: Uphold the integrity of our procurement platform, making certain that all transactions align with established processes.
- Assisting with Audit: Collaborate with the audit team to fulfill audit requirements at the end of the financial year.
